TAKAZAWA CANDLE Co., Ltd. established by Takazawa family in 1892 in Nanao city, Ishikawa prefecture, produces traditional Japanese candles. True "Japanese candles" are made by hand, one by one, using wax extracted from haze nuts (sumac), and wick made of rolled washi paper and rush fibers. Japanese candles today are often considered "traditional" or "classic". Keeping alive age-old candle-making techniques, the company developed a new design of candles that fits modern lifestyles. The new series, call "Nanao", is created in the gentle and natural form of plants. The company promotes its new candle line both in Japan and abroad.
