AIDA YUSUKE CO., LTD. creates joyful tableware with beautifully layered colors, which come from the ceramic clay used to make their products. The firm employs the sophisticated techinique called neriage, in which slices are cut from a layered combination of several clays to reverl exquisite tones, which cannot be done with traditional glazing. AIDA's tableware, with its modern design and beaitufl hues, can add greatly to any table setting.


Yusuke AIDA, a world renowned environmental ceramic artist and designer, runs a kiln, "Yusuke Aida Studio", in Oshino, Yamanashi prefecture. The kiln is the only one in the world that has mass production capacity for ceramics made using the sophisticated Japanese neriage technique of layering different colors of clay to create intricate patterns.
