Thinning forests can be helpful in maintaining their health and vitality. All of TOSARYU's products use wood collected in such thinnings, specifically Japanese cypress trees from the Shimanto area. called Shimanto Hinoki. This area (specifically Kochi prefecture), which is prone to typhoons, produces cypress trees known to have the richest sap in the country, and contains a special substance, phytoncide, renowned for its soothing properties. As forest lovers, TOSARYU is proud of their locally-made wood products.
