Attaining the Extreme of Fineness
A popular product from SHOTOKU GLASS CO., "Usuhari Glass" is produced by the meticulous hands of master craftsmen who have inherited and cultured their skills by blowing glass for electric bulbs. The glassware thus produced is as light a air, with thickness almost consistent from the tip of the bottom - and measured in no more than sub-millimeters. Once you bring the glass to your mouth, you will find it more delicate and smoother than anything you have experienced before ; even water tastes special with this glass. Its discreet inconspicuous design suits any occasion, further enchanting the attraction of "Usuhari Glass".
SHOTOKU GLASS has been making glass products, including glassware, since its foundation as an electric bulb manufacturer in 1922. The firm has endeavored to make its contribution to protecting environment by producing its "e-glass series", which re-ues old fluorescent light tubes for materials, after safely removing mercury from them. SHOTOKU also switched its glass material to lead-free crystal, reflecting their concern over water pollution created in the glass production process.
