JETRO New York, on behalf of Kyoto University, is pleased to invite you to a free, half-day luncheon event featuring a
selection of business-oriented biomedical technologies from Kyoto University. This will be the first time Kyoto
University presents these innovative technologies in the US.

Events Highlight
From October 7-9, 2009, JETRO/PUCC will participate in CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2009 in San Diego, CA. At
CTIA WIT & Entertainment, PUCC will organize an exhibit for demonstrations and information. Visit PUCC at booth
#840 to view the demonstrations and speak with PUCC members about collaboration
opportunities.
In addition, JETRO and PUCC will hold a session titled "Wireless Health Care in Japan" during
CTIA WIT & Entertainment 2009 on Oct. 9th at 11AM. The session will featured a line-up of Japanese companies
working in the wireless health care sector. These companies will share their experiences to the CTIA audience during
the one-hour session.

Description:
Already known as the most advanced wireless market in the world, Japan is rapidly evolving as the leader in wireless
healthcare. The integration of the mobile phone with healthcare services and medical devices is already a market
reality. Capitalizing on the ubiquitous mobile communications society, the Japanese Government, national health
insurance, leading medical universities, device companies, and operators are all actively involved in the burgeoning
mobile healthcare scene. Continuing large scale trails to verify outcomes and set standards for medical
reimbursement welcome foreign companies to participate.
This session explores the current trends and applications of wireless health in Japan. Specifically, the integration of
the mobile phone into the ubiquitous home network, speed and fluidity of multimedia transfer, and growth of digital
healthy living. This panel consists of some of the major players in the Japanese wireless health market and they will
be discussing what they're currently doing in Japan and the opportunities for US companies.
