TWG Tea Co. of Singapore plans to open Japan store
October 5, 2009

The Nikkei Weekly reports that the Singapore luxury tea brand, TWG Tea Co., is in discussions with Japanese companies to open an outlet store in Tokyo early next year. "With a growing number of Japanese fans who have lived in or visited Singapore, TWG Tea is hoping to find brisk demand for its teas in Japan, where consumers are known for their refined tastes," the article said.

Financial transaction lifecycle management specialist, SmartStream, opens Tokyo office
October 14, 2009

Provider of reconciliations solutions to regional and major banks, SmartStream announced the opening of its office in Tokyo. Establishing the office represents the company's intent to expand its middle and back office solutions available to the Japanese market, the company said in a press release. Christian Schiebl, executive vice president at SmartStream Technologies, is quoted saying, "The Tokyo office is another significant step in SmartStream's ongoing direct investment in the Asia Pacific region...The Japanese market has very specific automation needs and establishing an office in the country was always part of SmartStream's expansion plans for the region."
