Linguistic Systems, Inc. opens Japan office to meet demand for Japanese/English translation services
October 28, 2009

Linguistic Systems, Inc. (LSI) has opened an office in Tokyo, Japan. The office will serve LSI clients in the U.S., Japan, and abroad, providing "a wide range of language services with a special focus on the growing need for translation within e-Discovery." "We are very pleased to be opening this new facility in Japan," the company press release quotes LSI President Martin Roberts saying. "In this rapidly expanding Asian business market driven by continued globalization, more corporations are opening headquarters in the Asia pacific region..."

A123 Systems and IHI Corporation Sign Joint Marketing Agreement to Develop Advanced Battery Technology Business in Japan
October 28, 2009

A123 Systems of Watertown, MA and IHI Corporation of Japan announced "they have entered into a collaborative business development agreement to serve potential customers in the Japanese transportation, industrial and marine markets. Under the terms of a joint marketing agreement, the two companies will pursue new customer opportunities in energy storage in the Japanese market," according to a company press release.
