EDA solutions company Calypto Design Systems chooses Innotech as exclusive distributor in Japan
April 26, 2010

Innotech Corporation will be the exclusive distributor of Calypto Design Systems Inc.'s power optimization and functional verification tools in Japan. Innotech will provide sales and technical support for Calypto's PowerPro(R) and SLECR (Sequential Logic Equivalence Checker) product lines.

Aeroflex Test Solutions and 7 layers sign agreement to provide LTE testing services in Japann
April 29, 2010

In an agreement created to support the commercialization of LTE (long term evolution) mobile phone networks in Japan, "Aeroflex will install its 7100 LTE Digital Radio Test Set in 7 layers' laboratory in Yokohama, Japan, greatly expanding 7 layers' LTE regulatory compliance testing services," states a company press release.

eBay and Gmarket founder announce joint venture to expand Gmarket in Japan, Singapore
May 6, 2010

eBay Inc. and Young Bae Ku, the founder of Gmarket, Korea's leading e-commerce company acquired by eBay in 2009, announced a joint venture agreement to expand Gmarket's existing online marketplaces in Japan and Singapore, states a company press release.

Transaction management solutions provider Spendvision opens offices in Tokyo, Singapore
May 10, 2010

Spendvision announced the opening of new offices in Japan and Singapore. The offices were opened to enable Spendvision to target new customers for its corporate transactions management platform. "Japan in particular is a great barometer for emerging mobile trends and technologies that are fundamentally changing the way employees make corporate purchases," a company press release quotes Spendvision CEO Robert Kirby saying.

Arch Chemicals opens new antifouling biocides technical service center and sales office in Osaka, Japan
May 17, 2010

Arch Chemicals, Inc. announced the opening of its new Asia Pacific Marine Laboratory in Osaka, Japan. The facility is located near the company's Japanese marine paint customers and has been established to "maximize technical expertise in the ongoing development of antifouling paint technology and will include work with self-polishing polymers and net coatings for aquaculture applications. Concurrently, the Arch Osaka sales office will relocate to the same facility as the new Marine Laboratory," states a company press release.

Live video provider Ustream establishes joint venture with Softbank Corp. to expand Ustream into Japan, Asia Pacific
May 18, 2010

Ustream, Inc. and Softbank Corp. announced the establishment of Ustream Asia, a joint venture partnership to expand the Ustream live video business into the Asia Pacific. "The joint venture will begin as a Japanese Ustream presence with the goal of expansion into the broader Asia Pacific region," states a company press release.

Insurance broker arm Bowring Marsh opens Tokyo office
May 19, 2010

Bowring Marsh, the Specialist International Placement Broker at Marsh, announced the opening of a Tokyo office. Nick Bacon, CEO of Bowring Marsh, is quoted in a company press release saying, "...For many decades, Tokyo has been regarded as a major regional centre for property insurance. However, it is also growing in its importance as a leading international insurance hub. We are seeing increased interest in highly-regarded Japanese insurance capacity from our corporate clients globally. The launch of Bowring Marsh's Tokyo office will enable us to meet that demand more effectively....The opening of our Tokyo office is an important step in our regional growth plan and further enhances our global portfolio."
