News Update: Company making progress in Japan

Keep an eye on what companies are doing in Japan with this monthly news update.

Flow Science Opens Office in Japan, President Affirms Positive Market Outlook after Quake
June 9, 2011

A New Mexico-based developer of software for industrial and scientific applications, Flow Science announced the opening of an office in Tokyo, Japan for the sales and support of its FLOW-3D computational fluid dynamics software. "Japan was where the very first sale of a FLOW-3D license was made. It has been a wonderful market for Flow Science," said Thomas Jensen, president of Flow Science.

Regarding the company's business outlook in Japan in light of the recent earthquake, Mr. Jensen said, "This move, which was planned well before the unfortunate events of March 11 and thereafter, was never really reconsidered in light of those events. Japan is such an important market for our company that we believed it was the right thing to do. While the consequences of the earthquake and the resulting problems at the Fukushima power plant will doubtless have a transitory effect on Japanese industry, in the longer run, there will be growth in Japan. Equally important, because of the advanced nature of the simulation work our Japanese customers are undertaking, we feel it is important for us to be closer to them than we have been as we execute our strategy of expansion in Asia."
