Brightcove Announces Major New Customer Wins in Japan
December 7, 2009

Online video platform provider Brightcove Inc. "announced a series of major new customer wins in Japan, including Rakuten, Inc., Tokyo Metropolitan Television Broadcasting Corp., Television Osaka, Inc., Shizuoka Asahi Television Co., Ltd., ART iT Co., Ltd., Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting Co., Ltd. and Aniplex Inc.," states the company press release.

"We continue to accelerate our rapid global expansion, and our success and broad adoption in Japan is a major driving force to that growth," said Jeremy Allaire, chairman and chief executive officer at Brightcove. "We've seen strong customer traction in Japan since the launch of Brightcove KK last year..."

Covance Expands Clinical Development Offices in Japan Among Other Developments in Asia- Pacific
December 15, 2009

Covance Inc. (NYSE: CVD) announced the expansion of its Tokyo, Japan office, among other developments in the Asia -Pacific, to accommodate growing demand for clinical development services. "The Tokyo office expansion provides additional capacity for both clinical development and central laboratory services, including sales, administration, and kit customization for the Japanese market," states the company press.

Abercrombie & Fitch opens Ginza flagship store to an estimated 1,000-person line

Abercrombie & Fitch opened its first Asia flagship store in Tokyo's Ginza district to a line of an estimated 1,000 people. The company plans to open a second flagship store next year in Japan's Fukuoka Prefecture.

Hazard communications software provider The Wercs, Ltd. forms strategic partnership with Japan Chemicals Database Ltd.

Hazard communications software provider The Wercs, Ltd. has been chosen by Japanese regulatory company Japan Chemicals Database Ltd. (JCDB) in a strategic relationship in which "JCDB will market The Wercs software alongside its regulatory database and software package," states a company press release.

Contemporary designer Rebecca Taylor partners with Itochu Fashion System Co. Ltd. to expand the Rebecca Taylor brand throughout Japan

Designer Rebecca Taylor signed a three-year deal with Itochu Fashion System Co. Ltd. to expand the Rebecca Taylor brand throughout Japan. The brand plans to open 20 shop-in-shops in the 1st year and more within the next 3 years in Japan, a freestanding boutique in Tokyo's Ginza district, and is developing an e-commerce site for Japan and the U.S.
