Networking Reception with Japanese Precision Manufacturers
Monday, September 27, 2010, 3:00PM - 5:30PM
ENGLISH
JETRO Event
The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will host a networking reception in the afternoon on Monday, September 27th. This event will bring together Minnesota medical device manufacturers and delegates from the Nagano Techno Foundation’s Desktop Factory Group.
Japan’s Nagano Prefecture, especially the Suwa region, has become a center for high-tech machine tool manufacturers. These organizations supply a variety of industries, including computer & electronic components, automotive parts, semiconductors and medical devices. The delegation will visit Minnesota to identify new market opportunities and to meet high-tech manufacturers to learn more about their needs. The purpose of this networking event is to introduce members of the Nagano Techno Foundation to Minnesota companies and to familiarize Minnesota's medical device manufacturers with the capabilities of the Nagano companies.
Dale Wahlstrom of the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota will provide the delegates with an overview of the Minnesota medical device community. The delegates will then brief the audience on the Suwa region, the Desktop Factory group’s mission and introduce the delegation members. Attendees will then have the opportunity to network with representatives of these companies and learn more about their manufacturing technologies.
