ev_small.jpgThis seminar in the JETRO Clean Tech Seminar Series will discuss the future market and opportunity for electric vehicles (EVs) and the development of charge stations in Japan and the US. Automakers around the world are putting large amounts of eff ort and energy into developing environmentally friendly and fuel efficient vehicles. As the development of EVs progresses, more effective battery technology will be essential. Demand for charge stations in Japan and in the US will also grow significantly.

Japanese national and local governments are doing their part to help develop infrastructure by off ering cash incentives to those who want to purchase hybrid or fully electric vehicles. Japan could generate one of the biggest demands for EVs due to the country’s high gasoline prices and generous government subsidies. The U.S. EV charging market is expected to see $200 million in annual sales by 2015, while the EV market in the U.S is also expected to grow. Furthermore, the success of the EV market will generate a boom for the global battery market.

As Japan is expecting to lead in the development of the EV market in the next few years, there is an opportunity for U.S. EV and related companies to stimulate the development of the anticipated market. In this seminar, companies can learn how to leverage this opportunity together with Japan. JETRO would like to invite you to join this exciting growing market. Let’s work together to create an environmentally-friendly future.
