Background:

Jiro "Tony" Fujita, JETRO investment advisor and principal of J.A. Fujita Consulting, will give a talk on the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) market in Japan, a market worth over $1 trillion. His talk will cover the present state of Japan's ICT market, future trends, the regulatory environment, and opportunities. Mr. Fujita will also discuss how JETRO can assist US companies in Japanese market entry.

As a principal of J.A. Fujita Consulting, Mr. Fujita specializes in business tie-up consulting catering to US and Japanese companies, assisting in licensing, negotiation and investment. He has represented many small and medium-sized US businesses entering the Japanese market, and has been especially active in finding and introducing technology businesses and technologies to Japanese trading, technology and telecom companies.

In his role as an investment advisor for JETRO, Mr. Fujita is mainly involved in finding and assisting US technology companies enter the Japanese market. Mr. Fujita is also a principal advisor to CommNexus (San Diego Telecom Council), which represents ICT companies in San Diego. He also plans and coordinates a US ICT market study tour each year for major Japanese telecom groups. In the past he has spoken and been a panelist at events organized by Pepperdine University, UC Riverside and UCLA.
