The Center for International Business Education & Research at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin will join with JETRO and the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston to take a look at "Japan - One Year After - Beyond the Recovery from the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake." Former U.S. Ambassador to Japan J. Thomas Schieffer will speak about "Strategic Implications of the U.S.-Japan Alliance in a Changing World" and will include comments about current events in Japan such as political, strategic and economic issues. Ray Tanguay, who is Senior Managing Officer for Toyota Motor Corporation (Japan), Senior-Vice-President of Toyota Motor North America and Chairman of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, Inc., will address Toyota's business following the earthquake and management of the supply chain. Dr. Rob Oppenheim, Director of the Center for East Asian Studies at UT Austin, will be the Master of Ceremonies. Both keynote speakers will be available for questions and answers and the seminar will be followed by a hosted reception.
