Green Device 2009

JETRO is now inviting applications for participation in the JETRO Zone at the inaugural "Green Device 2009," to be held concurrently with "FPD International 2009," in Yokohama from October 28-30, 2009. Firms in new lighting, new energy and energy conservation fields are invited to apply. Costs for participation (booth and event fee, airfare to Japan, accommodation during expo, etc.,) are partly born by JETRO*. Please see below for more information and application information. Deadline for application is June 12, 2009.

Exhibition sectors: Environment-friendly electronic devices facilitating CO2 reduction (green devices) and related manufacturing/test equipment, components and materials.

【Manufacturing/test equipment】 CVD systems, sputtering systems, vacuum deposition systems, epitaxial growth systems, laser annealing systems, etching systems, dicing machines, packaging systems, bonding equipment, wash systems, transport systems, measurement instruments (brightness, color, hue), inspection systems for appearance, surface defects, etc.

New energy: Solar cells, fuel cells, waste heat utilization, etc.

【Manufacturing/test equipment】 Ingot manufacturing systems, CVD systems, sputtering systems, vacuum deposition systems, epitaxial growth systems, laser annealing systems, cell evaluation and inspection systems, measurement and inspection systems for appearance / surface defects, other measurement and inspection systems, hydrogen generation and storage systems, gas sensors (hydrogen, etc.), etc.

Energy conservation: Rechargeable batteries, power semiconductors, superconducting power, transmission technology low-power displays, and other low-power electronic devices.

Target participants for JETRO Zone

  • Companies interested in investing in Japan, or currently seeking Japanese partners to establish a business in Japan.
  • 25 companies (max.) to be selected through JETRO’s screening process.

Attractive features of participation

  • Held simultaneously with FPD International, which attracts many visitors.
  • JETRO will pre-arrange business meetings for your company.
  • Your participation will be publicized on the JETRO website, and by local governments to local companies.
  • Your company’s information will be listed in the “JETRO Zone exhibitors' brochureâ€? (to be distributed before the event and on-site).
  • Participation costs will be partly covered by JETRO.

Expenses covered by JETRO

  • Booth space (max one booth per company).
  • Basic booth stand, designed by JETRO and with basic equipment provided.
  • An interpreter working exclusively for each invitee.
  • Round-trip airfare (economy class) and program-related transportation within Japan (one person per company)
  • Accommodation in Japan at a hotel designated by JETRO for the duration of the invitation program (one person per company).

Costs borne by the invitee

  • International and domestic transportation of exhibits to and from the show venue.
  • Any costs incurred by additions made to the basic booth stand provided by JETRO. Examples include, but are not limited to, additional construction/decoration costs, or the rental and installation of additional equipment, etc.
  • Any additional travel expenses resulting from selecting a route other than the JETRO-appointed one (i.e., the most direct), or if your stay in Japan exceeds or differs from the duration of the invitation program.
  • Insurance for the items you exhibit and your travel accident insurance.

Additional information

  • JETRO will screen applicants and select 25 companies to invite. Results will be available from end of June 2009. (TBD)
  • JETRO’s services will be provided only to firms accepted as participants.
  • Any costs incurred by the invitee’s withdrawal from the program after JETRO has notified them that they are an official invitee shall be borne by the invitee.
