JETRO Chairman Yasuo Hayashi and former U.S. Ambassador to Japan J. Thomas Schieffer will address trade between the U.S. and Japan and the two countries' close relations in the fields of finance, currency policy and environmental policy. Also discussed will be Japan's hidden growth markets and opportunities for foreign investment. The current state of East Asia's economic integration, its growing presence in the global economy and challenges facing the region will be reviewed. Other areas of interest will include future cooperation between the U.S. and Japan in areas such as technology R&D and clean energy policy.
