JETRO Event

JETRO-Houston presents its annual Japan Business Seminar featuring "Current and Future Opportunities in Japan's Biotech Market" in cooperation with the Houston Technology Center and BioHouston.  Both the U.S. Department of Commerce/Houston District Office and the Greater Houston Partnership are cooperating organizations with presentations by a delegation from Chiba, Houston's Sister City in Japan, including the Honorable Toshihito Kumagai, Mayor, and Tatsuya Minagawa, Director of the Economic Affairs Department.  Remarks will include speeches on life sciences acceleration in the Houston area and an overview of biotechnology in the Gulf Coast region.  Additional perspectives will be outlined on the biotech market in Japan, its regulations and systems and Chiba's biotech cluster at the Inohana Incubation Center.

This unique event will not only feature the latest trends and future opportunities in Japan's biotechnology market but will help identify important tips on how to successfully enter the Japanese market. The program highlights a number of leaders in the field whose advice can help companies know more about the biotech industry in both Chiba City and Japan utilizing Houston Technology Center, BioHouston and JETRO resources.

Japan features one of the most competitive bio-industries, even leading the U.S. and Europe. It is projected to further expand due to factors such as an aging society and increased health awareness. The nation has devoted substantial resources to developing a biotech curricula at universities, fostering R&D facilities, increasing bio-venture startups, growing bio-clusters and developing human resources, all with the goal of making it one of the world's most advanced biotechnology regions.

Please join us for this special briefing to learn more about one of the most attractive growing industries in Japan!
