Background:
Les Hamasaki, Executive Director of GIVE (Green Institute for Village Empowerment, Inc. a non-profit organization) will speak on the Inland Empire’s Green Valley Initiative whose mission is to establish California’s International Green Technology Center to combat climate change and to create a jobs-housing balance. And Dion Jackson, Associate Director, USC Center for Economic Development, will discuss the will discuss the investment opportunities for companies to locate their operations in the Inland Empire. The region is the fastest growing region in California with a projected growth of over 2 million people in the next 15 years that will require a million new homes, offices, schools, hospitals, shopping centers to be built. Currently, over 41% of all U.S. imports enter through the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and the majority of the containers come to the Inland Empire’s advanced logistic centers. American and Japanese companies will be able to hear about the incentives available to locate their business in the Inland Empire.
