Los Angeles – JETRO Los Angeles, the City of Los Angeles and the U.S. Green Building Council Los Angeles Chapter (USGBC-LA), held a seminar "Greening the City: Sharing Sustainable Urban Planning and Green Building of LA and Eco-Cities in Japan" at the Kyoto Grand Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
The seminar attracted about 140 professionals involved in city greening efforts, including architects, engineers, city officials and company representatives. Following the opening remarks by Romel Pascual (Interim Deputy Mayor for Energy & Environment, Los Angeles Mayor's Office) and Junichi Ihara (Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles), the event was divided into 3 sessions: Greening the City, Green Building and Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure. Each session focused on sharing the latest city-level programs and initiatives in Los Angeles and "Eco-Cities" of Japan and was followed by a Q&A and panel discussion session.
