Precision Dispensing Systems Manufacturer Nordson EFD Establishes Sales Office in Japan January 19, 2010 Nordson EFD, a division of Nordson Corporation, announced the opening of a new direct sales office in Tokyo. The office will "provide factory-direct sales and technical support to the Japanese manufacturing and adhesive packaging communities on both domestic and global levels," states a company press release. "Nordson EFD is a leading manufacturer of precision dispensing systems for applying controlled amounts of adhesives, lubricants and other fluids used in almost every assembly process." Source: Company press release ![]() 3M to Acquire A-One Office & Consumer Label Business in Japan February 22, 2010 3M announced it has "entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in the A-One branded consumer and office label business and related operations," states a company press release. The press release notes that A-One is the leading office and consumer label brand in Asia, and the second largest worldwide. Bill Smith, vice president of 3M Office Supplies Division, is quoted saying, "A-One not only provides immediate critical mass in Japan and valuable know-how for label production, it accelerates our penetration through the Asia region and underscores 3M's commitment to be a global leader in the consumer and office label business." Source: Company press release ![]() Provider of Microwave Laboratory Instrumentation CEM Corporation Announces Japanese Subsidiary March 1, 2010 CEM Corporation, a provider of microwave laboratory instrumentation, announced the establishment of a new subsidiary headquartered in Tokyo with an additional office in Osaka, Japan. The Japan subsidiary "will be responsible for all sales, marketing, technical support and service of the Company's entire line of laboratory instrumentation in Japan and selected areas of Asia," states a company press release. Source: Company press release ![]() Power Management Company Active-Semi International Opens Sales Office in Tokyo March 2, 2010 Active-Semi International Inc. announced the opening of its first office in Japan. "Our increased presence in Japan will be very important as we increase awareness of Active-Semi's leading edge power solutions in this vital market," a company press release quotes Larry Blackledge, CEO of Active-Semi, saying. The press release also states that the Japan office "builds on Active-Semi's success in China and South Korea, and is expected to boost Active-Semi's growth, especially in the power management unit (PMU) and light emitting diode (LED) markets."
