New York, NY, January 22, 2010 – The Japan Pavilion, which is the largest Japanese exhibit in the U.S. food trade shows history, will be presented at the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York. It will take place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City held from Sunday, February 28 through Tuesday, March 2, 2010. The Japan Pavilion will feature more than 90 respective vendors from Japan with their prideful high quality products and regional specialties. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries or MAFF will invite exclusively selected 26 companies including Japanese food manufacturers and wholesalers from Japan to this Pavilion, which is operated by Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The showcased products have been culled from thousands of potential products throughout Japan, and they were meticulously chosen for their quality, rarity and health consciousness, some of which are making their international debut. Products on display range from vinegars, soy sauce, miso, tofu, kelp, shiitake mushrooms, Japanese yam, noodles, seafood, processed yuzu, wasabi, green tea, shochu and sake. Other products on display will include fresh scented fish sauce made from ayu (sweetfish - popular gourmet fish in Japan, which is also known for its sweet flavor) and colorful veggie wrappers made from vegetable. A wide variety of Japanese delicacies with attractive presentations and delicate flavors will also be available to sample. Beautiful, exotic Japanese cuisine is one of the most refined cuisines of the world, and no doubt one of the healthiest; offering a large variety of dishes and regional specialties. On this occasion, we would like to present special Japanese gourmet ingredients and food products to American, French, Italian and many other chefs and restaurants in the U.S. to discover how they truly are great components to western cuisine as well. Your better understanding of Japanese ingredients and food products will not be complete until you savor them, so please come visit the Japan Pavilion to discover Japanese ingredients and food products for creating your own Japanese inspired cuisine.
