"Drawing on the Experience and Innovation of Green Technology from Japan for Sustainable Building" seminar Monday, November 16, 2009, 5:30pm – 7:30pm Los Angeles – JETRO Los Angeles, in partnership with the Asian American Architects and Engineers Association (AAa/e), held a seminar "Drawing on the Experience and Innovation of Green Technology from Japan for Sustainable Building" at the Kyoto Grand Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. "Concise, high level presentations presented by experts in their industries." – Event attendee The Consul General of Japan in Los Angeles, Junichi Ihara, made the opening remarks, and was followed by a panel discussion on cutting-edge technologies originating from Japan – highly efficient HVAC and photovoltaic systems, in addition to green rooftop farms and gardens – and their potential application for sustainable building in the U.S. The event was moderated by Russell Vare, a renewable energy advisor for the Build-Los Angeles Community College District.

Table presentations showcased various Japanese green technology vendors including Affinity, Daikin AC, ENVEC, Fuji Electric, Shinshinblock, Takagi, and Wood One. Event attendees had a unique opportunity to engage in high-level networking opportunities and learn more about cutting-edge green technologies from Japan.
