As part of our ongoing commitment helping U.S. companies successfully establish an office in Japan, JETRO offers the following:
- Free office space for up to 50 business days
For up to 50 business days, qualified companies can use the free office space available at our Invest Japan Business Support Centers (IBSC) in Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Kobe, and Fukuoka. Companies new to Japan often require such temporary office space to complete company registrations. A temporary office is also convenient to use while finding permanent office space.
The IBSC offices have broadband connections and include basic equipment: desks, chairs, cabinets, telephones and fax machines (with private lines). Access to conference rooms and a business library are also available.
- Free consultations with experts
In our IBSC or via a teleconference, qualified companies can meet or speak with experts in the fields of Company Registration, Tax and Accounting, Labor and Social Insurance, and Visas. All consultations are free.
Consultants are also available for direct hire and can provide referrals to other consultants.
All of our consultants are bilingual and their fees are audited periodically to ensure they are on par with the market.
Qualified companies may also hold a teleconference with our third-party tax consultants and scriveners if a consultation before going to Japan is desired.
- Free market information
JETRO can provide qualified companies with market reports to help identify opportunities and challenges in the Japanese market.
- Free access to our network
Over our 50 years in operation, JETRO has developed relationships with businesses and government agencies throughout Japan. We can provide references to companies, organizations, and professionals who can further help you successfully establish your Japan office.
- Potential business partners – JETRO can provide a list of potential partners and sometimes introductions to company representatives.
- Recruiting companies – Circulate job descriptions among recruiting companies to fill a position or create a strong staff. Then use our IBSC to meet with recruiting company representatives and prospective employees.
- Real estate agents - Technically, a company can work out of a residence, but if you wish to find an office, JETRO can introduce you to our network of real estate agents who can give you price estimates for office space around Japan.
- Regional advisors - If you would like to establish an office outside of Tokyo, JETRO can work with regional governments to identify regional investment incentives and an ideal location for your business. For preliminary information on Japan’s regions, visit http://www.jetro.go.jp/en/invest/region/.
