The Invest Japan Symposiums are held annually in cities across the U.S. as part of the Japan-U.S. Investment Initiative created under a Japan-U.S. agreement concluded in 2001. This year’s symposiums were held in two cities: Washington D.C. and Miami.

The symposiums were co-organized by JETRO, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the U.S. Department of State.  At each venue, U.S. companies that have made direct investments in Japan—through a subsidiary, branch office, R&D facility, joint venture, or other operation—shared compelling factors of the Japanese market and the steps they took to successfully establish their physical presence.
