JETRO was pleased to host a delegation of 53 Japanese bio-related companies at BIO 2006 in Chicago.
A total of over 18,000 BIO attendees visited the Japan Pavilion, where Japanese biotechnology representatives ranging from corporations that develop pharmaceuticals (e.g., gene therapies, anti-cancer drugs) to universities and intellectual research institutes showcased their technologies. By then end of the show over 3,000 business interactions between Japanese exhibitors and convention visitors had been initiated. The Japanese delegation to BIO consisted of companies, universities, and governmental organizations looking to partner and showcase their innovative technologies to the world. Exhibit Hall Hospitality Reception JETRO welcomes fellow exhibitors to the Japan Pavilion for Matsuri a Japanese-style festival. The reception will open with a Kagamiwari ceremony, in which casks of sake (rice wine) will be broken open and served to guests, accompanied by sushi.
