Free JETRO program will create new partnerships between the US and Japanese sectors

(NEW YORK, JULY 11 2005)-   Business cards will be exchanged and deals will be arranged at a business-matching event providing US company’s direct access to Japanese clients and partners. Technology companies interested in expanding their business in Japan are invited to participate in a program organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). JETRO @ CEATEC 2005, being held from October 4-8 2005,  will give technology companies access to and potential business partners during Asia’s largest IT show, Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) JAPAN.

“Last year we participated in JETRO @ CEATEC 2004 to partner with Japanese companies and sell our solutions,” remarked last year’s participant Mr. Jack Chung, CEO of MatrixStream Technologies Inc. “JETRO’s business matching was very useful in identifying the proper partners. We tried to find partners for the last 3 years for our IPTV and Video on demand platform before JETRO and failed. After the business matching programs, we found a Japanese partner and signed a deal right away.”

The JETRO @ CEATEC 2005 program includes admission to CEATEC JAPAN 2005, business networking events, and the opportunity to gain insights on recent trends and current practices in the Japanese market.  The highlight of this program is one-on-one pre-arranged business meetings between program participants and Japanese companies. During the 2004 business partnering program, over 200 meetings were conducted and several participants later signed agreements with the Japanese partners which they met during the program.

“For technology firms looking for new revenue streams, Japan is the place to be.” said Masahiko Hosokawa, president of JETRO’s New York office.  “Japan’s world-class technology companies and advanced distribution networks create vast opportunities for North American companies.  Only JETRO has the expertise and connections to provide productive meetings with the appropriate and relevant Japanese companies and executives.”

JETRO @ CEATEC 2005 is being supported by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), Japan Personal Computer Software Association (JPSA), Communications and Information Network Association of Japan (CIAJ), and CEATEC JAPAN.
